CROSSFIT OPEN 2016 Starts This Friday!

(Long Post Warning but worth the read)

The time has come to put your fitness to the ultimate test with the CrossFit Open. Doesn’t matter if you have been here for 2 weeks or 2 years, the Open is where we all start out every year. It is a competition that is open to everyone. It will push you and motivate you and help you set goals to improve each year.

With Scaled and Rx Divisions, we encourage all members to compete. If some moves are still out of reach for you, Iron has an additional scaled option so you all can participate. The energy and support from other members of the box is outstanding.

We will have the gym taped and roped off for heats. We will also have a DJ and certified judges to count your reps.

This is a great time of year for our Iron CrossFit Community. We are very excited to deliver the best experience possible. Please join us for the next 5 Friday nights (or whatever nights you can make) for a great test of your fitness. Friends/Family are welcome and encouraged to come watch.

While most people assume they won't do well or that there will be at least one movement in one WOD that they can't perform, there are also countless times during these Open WODs when people set new PR's, or finally get that one movement that's evaded them throughout their training: Doubles, Toes to Bar, muscle-ups -- you name it -- I can promise you it's happened. And when it does, the cheers will be loud and you will leave elated!

The energy surrounding these events will drive you to new levels of mental toughness, strength, and skill that you never imagined.

Here is the process for those who have never attended:

The WODs are announced every Thursday night for the next 5 weeks on the CrossFit Games Website at 8pm.

Thursday night we will be viewing the CF Open announcement and some trainers/judges will be doing the WOD right after. Anyone is welcome to come watch. Afterwards, anyone that is registered for the Open or just wants to participate will be doing the Open Friday night 6PM to 8PM. Please pre-register on Wodify NO LATER than 8pm the Wednesday prior.

It is Free to members to participate in the gym Friday night. You can also register with for the Open. I highly recommend signing up online for the open so you can see where you stand among your peers worldwide, by age group, etc.

It's not too late to sign up for the actual CrossFit Open either; to do so, follow this link-…

We are also having a CrossFit Open after-PARTY. We will be meeting at North Brunswick Pub at 9:30PM.
Any questions about the event just ask a coach next time your in the gym or shoot us an email!

Here's to a great week of training and I hope to see tons of you on Friday night for the 16.1
